Welcome
Our 82,000 square foot meat processing and distribution center was built in 1996 and operates as one of the newest and cleanest facilities in the nation. Our customer service area allows our skilled staff of in-house representatives to work with our street sales associates to effectively handle your calls and process your orders. Our staff represents many years of experience working with our products which is invaluable when answering your questions or, if necessary, leveraging other resources to address your questions quickly.
Test Kitchen and Training Room
A modern, fully-equipped test kitchen and training classroom allows us to test and demonstrate the latest products being produced by A. Thomas and other food manufacturers. This area is also available to our institutional customers for specific product testing, demonstrations and evaluation. Individual groups interested in seeing products related to healthcare, fundraising, employee gifts and employee discount sales are invited to contact us regarding the use of this area.
Meat Processing Area
The meat processing area is divided into three separate departments designed to maintain food safety and production efficiency. The first and largest area is where we process the raw beef, pork, veal, and lamb. In the second area, fresh poultry is processed. In the third area, fully-cooked products such as roasted prime rib, baked ham, turkey, roast beef, corned beef, lunch meats, and cheeses are portion cut or sliced according to our customers' specifications.
Shipping and Receiving Dock
To maintain the integrity of our products, we receive shipments on segregated docks. One dock, containing five doors, is refrigerated and temperature controlled for the dedicated purpose of shipping and receiving perishable products that must be refrigerated. We also have a separate dock, containing four doors, for dry groceries and other products that are shelf stable and not temperature sensitive.
Refrigerated Storage
We have more than 700,000 cubic feet of refrigerated storage space for our perishable items. The storage temperatures range from 45 degrees to negative 10 degrees enabling us to select the optimum holding temperature for our products ranging from fresh meats and produce to bakery goods and ice cream.
Dry Warehouse
Our 52,000 square foot dry warehouse has a storage capacity of 4,700 pallets of assorted shelf stable food products, disposables and paper products as well as cleaning supplies and small wares.
